WORK HISTORY
Data Analyst (Volunteer)
July 2020 - Present
The Bakken Museum
Minneapolis, MN
Initiated data analyst volunteer role to help non-profit museum that doesn’t have a designated data team or even person. Responsible for learning the internal CRM software and then determining how best to wrangle the data within the platform. Working toward setting the Bakken up for data success through uniform file management and creating streamlined data pipelines. Manage limited time in office between ongoing projects, ad-hoc queries, and building my own technical knowledgebase.
Key Accomplishments
  • Helping museum to maximize rental profits thru ETL; performed using jupyter notebook, pandas, and python scripts
  • Starting more thorough profit analysis of museum members by aggregating correctly-validated data; accomplished with PostgreSQL for data exploration, python scripts for mathematical analysis, and Microsoft Excel to deliver results
  • Creating profit strategy for the museum store (newly taken over by my supervisor), which includes analyzing profit margins, determining ordering schedule, and exploring for insights within the data
